march 13 Update

​ We are still on track to launch a Girls Football Club that will host Sunday evening training sessions and compete in a tournament this spring. So keep those Sunday nights coming up reserved for girls football action. We are just days away from opening formal registration. So be on the lookout for that during break or right away when you get back. More critical detail updates are posted below, locations narrowed down.

We have a phenomenal coaching foundation for the Iowa City girls club. I've confirmed with a handful of parents of soft registrants that are excited to be part of this and will bring plenty of football experience, knowledge, and passion to share.

 

We've been working with football leaders in other Eastern Iowa communities undertaking the same charge to establish girls football programs and co-host with us the first ever Iowa Girls State Flag Football Tournament. Those groups are Cedar Valley Athletic Club (Cedar Falls), Metro Youth Football Association & Females in Flag Iowa (both Cedar Rapids). 

Redzone girls football club 2025

Eligibility: Girls in current grades 3rd-12th, open to the public, no tryout required

Training Schedule: Sunday evenings, start April 6, end June 1. Weekly practice & scrimmage session; 2 hours long starting 5pm or later. See full schedule below.

Training Location: Narrowed down to Liberty High, Northwest JrH, or Scott Park

State Tournament Info: Sunday, June 1 @ either MYFA Cedar Rapids or Kickers Park Iowa City.

Divisions & Game Format: Players will be sorted into 3 age levels for practice & competition. Generally 3rd-5th, 6th-8th, 9th-12th. There may be some flexibility to help balance team formations and to suit participant's experience & competitive desires. We will recognize teammate requests when it comes time to finalize teams for tournament play. The game format, such as 5v5 or 7v7 and other rules, will be determined by state tournament host organizers by May 1.

Cost: $119 enrollment includes 7 training sessions, uniform top, state tournament entry & commemorative t-shirt.
