January 1, 2026 Camps Update
Happy New Year Football Fans! As we roll in into 2026, I want to provide some context on our camp & training programs going forward.
I first got started with RedZone by offering camp and training sessions. It's the purest place to learn the game. There are no plays to call, games to win, or playing time to manage. Granular fundamentals can be repped and forged in a vacuum where challenge and adversity are the teachers. RedZone has been proud to offer thousands of hours of this training to youth players across eastern Iowa since 2013.
Our evolution in that time has seen significant program growth where RedZone serves more of an admin role. We're positioned to provide football opportunities on a larger scale, aligning and supporting other coaching leadership to carry out these experiences. Notably, our flag football leagues in the fall and RaZors/RoyalZ club teams active in a spring-summer season have taken elevated priority of our resources.
My mom recently crystallized it for me by saying, "Most parents just want to see their kid put on the uniform and play in the game." This plays to an inner-conflict between my heart and my head when faced to choose between being a football coach or a football organizer; the ladder drawing me to teach every kid and the former pulling me to realize what makes most business sense and impacts more kids.
Admittedly, camp and training programs now come third in where we put our focus. I certainly expect there will be camp opportunities available this spring & summer, but likely in different formats and more limited than in past years. We're re-imagining how to package these in ways that provide valuable experiences in balance with obligations due to our club teams and leagues. Stay tuned here to see what we have in store for 2026.
