The RoyalZ is RedZone's an all-girls football club that is active annually for a spring & summer season.
Age Divisions
10u, 12u, & 14u. Players qualify for the age group that corresponds with their age on January 1, 2026. A player is permitted to play up in an older age division.
Team Makeup
The club is based in the Iowa City area, our club is open to participants from any school/community. There are no tryouts. We prioritize player development and team building.

Practice
Practices will occur on Monday and/or Wednesdays evenings at Northwest Junior High in Corlaville starting April 27.
Enrollment
1. $200 Enrollment Fee This covers all 4 events, practice training, and uniform/equipment rental
2. Personal Equipment Fee (optional) Players will have the option to purchase a personalized uniform top and their own helmet/shorts or burrow ones from the club.
3. $15 MidAmerica 7v7 Age Verification Fee To play in any event, participants will need to age verify with a 3rd party for tournament oversight, a $15 annual fee.
Can a player join the club without plans to play in an event? Yes. The fee to attend practices only is $125.
Administration & Coaching
The RoyalZ club offers top layer of objective, non-parent leadership that is invested in the development and experience of every player. These leaders are adept at implementing our systems for our players and other coaches; they have strong influence with decisions based on playing time, key positions, and other strategic considerations. We also rely on parent coaching as well to help with practice efficiency and to cover multiple teams playing at the same time. These parents are semi-volunteers and are expected to be present at a majority of team events. Preference is given to those previously involved with the program and/or other 7v7 and football coaching.
Historical Notes
RedZone launched the RoyalZ girls football club in the spring of 2025. A group of 50+ participants completed a 6-week training schedule that culminated with playing in the Iowa girl's state football tournament, the first and only one available in the area. Members have continued to train with the club as the number of girls football teams and events is expected to explode for the 2026 spring & summer season.
2025 royalz recap
We couldn't have had a better launch to our girls club than we did in the spring of 2025. More than 50 girls in grades 3rd-9th and an all-star lineup of coaches were part of the first RoyalZ teams ever. The groups practiced hard, showcased their skills during halftime show at a professional game, and played in the first ever Iowa Girls State flag football tournament. While the event did not officially crown a champion, our players were phenomenal in many more victories than defeats. There were so many exciting, highlight plays; see some in the KCRG video below!
